Our study- and work groups are off for the summer. We will be back in september with a continuation of the Skogen School.
Enjoy the summer!
We long to be together inside of that which cannot be easily understood and articulated. A place where we will not be subject to paralyzing ideas of efficiency, of being measured and evaluated, of having to be immediately accessible. A place where there is time and space to hesitate and search together.
We long for a room where our curiosity is not instrumentalized, where artistic processes are not immediately packaged into commercial and palatable formats. A room where our words are not degraded by the pseudo-language of self management and project descriptions.
We long for a context where conversations develop organically and unconditionally. A place where learning is, in contrast both to the myth of the artist-as-genius and the capitalist idea of ownership, rather something that emerges in the meeting between us and our personal experiences, knowledge, and desires.
For the time being, we call our undertaking a school – manifested as a continuous program made up of courses, study groups, excursions, conversations, dinners, and other forms of communal making and examination.
Anyone, from any background, is welcome to take part of our open sessions and lectures which are all free of charge. You participate by signing up for the sessions you want, and will be able to follow our program at Skogens homepage.
